Dr. Garretson began his dental career in San Antonio, Texas, after earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Prior to dental school, he graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Chemistry.
After completing his training, he returned home to North Carolina and practiced in High Point while living in Winston-Salem. Since the start of his career, he has been committed to continuing education, earning advanced training in oral and IV sedation, implant placement, endodontics, and cosmetic dentistry.
Service has always been at the heart of Dr. Garretson’s work. From his early years in dental school, he developed a passion for caring for underserved communities—volunteering with the Community Care Center, the Baptist Men’s Dental Ministry, and participating in mission trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.
After spending several years in the Asheville area, Dr. Garretson is excited to return to the Piedmont and join the team at Luna Dental.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Garretson and his wife enjoy their now-quiet home with two dogs and two cats. He has four young adult children and, in his free time, you can often find him on the squash court or playing music with friends.
We’re thrilled to have Dr. Garretson starting in January 2026!
